Final Product

This was the pumpkin soup that I cooked last night. Took me 1 and a half hour to boil with slow fire. My wife loves it! Yummy!

Pumpkin Soup

This is the first time my wife and I try to cook pumpkin soup tonight, chinese style, meaning using pork ribs as soup base and no corn flour added. Hope it'll taste good!:p

Grasshopper

Found a grasshopper sitting on my main door. Heard from people that they will bring wealth to the family. However, didn't strike any 4D after betting high on my unit number. Perhaps it thinks that I'm wealthy enough to live in the commonwealth area?:-P

My wife's favourite wholesale fashion boutique is now on moving out sale till this coming Tuesday! The lady boss Embre is clearing her old stocks 1 for $15 and 5 for $50! New stock at 20% discount! Wow...good deal right? Hurry down to give her some support. Located at #02-10 at Peninsula Plaza. Heard that her new shop is moving to Marina Square. Will update till then, of course for those who are interested or I should say crazy about clothes...:P

Just now our new neighbour from next door came over with her 2 daughters with a very nice gesture. They brought us these cookies and I'm surprised that she told us that they were made by her 2 sweethearts. How nice of them and we were touched. We thank you...

Nowadays weather's getting hot. But thanks to this wonderful powder that cools myself down after a bath...yeeah....

Muffins

Last Sunday our neighbour Grace made us some muffins. Very crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside, yummy! Actually Grace is not our next door neighbour, instead she live 10+ floors above us at our block. I got to know her through SingaporeBrides forum. In fact she and her husband visited me when we are renovating our home. The whole interaction was about exchanging reno views and tips. Now they became our nice and friendly neighbour. I think the forum is indeed a very powerful tool for pulling people together. Really very appreciate this nice gesture of them since the kampong olden days. Hmm...I think we must cook something for them in returning a favor.

My wife is now a hardcore facebooker. She is so crazy about it that sometimes she log in before going to work. There's once when she play until so late that she had to take a cab to work, sigh...

Rejuvenative Dinner

It's a sunday evening and I have blues because tomorrow have to work. Fortunately, my wife and I went to this restaurant Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe at Anchor Point and oh my god, the food there was quite yummy and the service was also not bad. Somehow the manager, waiters and waitresses work like japanese, that is whenever there're customers coming in or going out, they will echo 'Welcome' or 'Thanks' etc. I've ordered papaya soup noodle with char siew and dumplings and my wife ordered a pork chop baked rice. Both of us have almond cream with papaya for dessert. When we've finished all the yummies, the next thing I knew was that my blues have gone away, but not sure about tomorrow's monday blues though...kekeke...

New Shelves

Finally got our shelves for the bomb shelter. Cost about S$190. Grey steel brackets with 9mm thick white plywood boards, 4 layers. Quite surprised that it can hold a lot of items. In the end still got enough space left to keep stock some toiletries and stuff like that.

Mushroom Cloud?

This morning saw this funny cloud shape similar to an atomic bomb mushroom cloud. Kinda artistic though...hmm...what do you think the shape resemble?

My Wardrobe

Bought some heart-shaped glass stickers from Daiso and a CJ7 plush toy from Facebook group in order to decorate my wardrobe. Isn't it nice?:-P

Bought a new pet from Yahoo Auction. Quite obedient actually...often accompany me and my wife watching TV. But not as capable as saving a life in the Stephen Chow's latest movie...too bad :-(

良伟 Roasted Delight

Last sunday had my lunch with my wife at the Holland Drive Food & Market Centre. This stall was actually highlighted on the Mediacorp TV show 排排站查查看. Well, the queue was indeed very long, took me about 20mins to get my food. My wife ordered the roasted duck rice while I ordered roasted pork rice. Mine was quite tasty especially the pork skin. But when I taste my wife's duck meat, it was just ok only like any other roasted meat stalls. In addition, we ordered their soups, it was terrible, we felt thirsty after we drank the soup. So we suspect MSG was added to the soups. Overall rating, I will give 3 out of 5 stars.

Mosquitoes

This morning killed the blood-sucking creature flying around the master bedroom. Suspected that it came from the construction site near my flat at Tanglin Halt and also the raining season nowadays. "Rain rain go away, come again another day. Mosquito, mosquito fly away, come again I'll make you pay!"

Chicken Soup

Completed in about one hour time and it was yummy! My wife loved it especially the chicken drumsticks that were added to the soup with the cabbage. We were so full after the dinner because my wife peeled too much cabbage during the preparation. We almost cannot finish the big pot of soup and the massive load of cabbages but thank God we did. Oh my...burp~

Cute little Issac

Look at this cute little baby, his name is Issac Chow, born on the 28th February 2008. Well...of course not mine lah. He's the son of my very good friends Marcus & Alice. Congratulations to them. So envy that they can start a family. As for me, still need to earn more $$$ first before my wife and I can make any moves. Anyway, my wife and I will like to wish them all happiness. Cheers!

New Mediacorp Drama Series

Last night my wife and I watched the Mediacorp new series 一房半厅一水缸 and find it quite interesting. I think it's about people from different walks of life staying in HDB 1-room flats. Mediacorp actually built a "dummy" flat with corridors where the actors can walk around like a real flat, amazing! The characters that they created are also very funny especially "Nancy" played by Chen Liping and the crazy woman played by Chen Huihui (if I can still remember her since she left Mediacorp).

Hope that this 30-episode drama series can pull it off successfully since the hit drama Holland V.

My passion for music...it's a dream

It's the SOMA (School of Music and the Arts) Open House again, this coming 8th March 2008. Hope there are many interesting courses suitable for me...yes yes..

I always wanted to learn to play piano or keyboard professionally one, but no chance at all leh when I was young that time...a bit regret for not pushing my parents to send me to music school or something...hehe...I know need a lot of $$$. But luckily, back in 1996, a friend of mine, Ric introduced me to midi sequencing (a kind of computer music arrangement). He told me midi sequencing does not need to be good in music, just key in the notes into the computer and arrange it in a way that you want the melodies to be. Sounds fun right? Ya...So I try and try and try, also try to self-taught keyboard for many years....until now, I've managed to compose a few melodies using this method. Ric said the famous Kitaro also play and compose music by ear one, no music background also....satsat leh?

However, I still think that my music theory and piano skills sucks big time...yeah. 没有突破, 也没有进步...Sigh. Therefore always thought of signing up music courses from SOMA or any other music schools. The sian thing is that I will be turning 32 this year, am I too late for all these?

Perhaps I should start a family soon and let my kids succeed my dreams?

Why the blog title "MOTORMANIAC"?

All because of one rock song composed by my favourite artist........Tetsuro Oda, 織田哲郎.

The song title is called "MOTORMAN" , written and composed by him. Hmm...how did I get to know this talented singer/composer/producer? Here's the story...

One day when I was at my cousin's place and I came across this mandarin pop CD with the song "今生注定" by 高明骏 and 王馨平. I kinda like this song and curious about the composer of this song and there you go, music by: 織田哲郎, Tetsuro Oda.

Since then, I began to search for songs composed by him, including the song "稍息立正站好" by 范晓萱 was also written by Tetsuro Oda. And most of the J-rock queen Nanase Aikawa's songs were also written and composed by him. Of course there are many more...

One of his latest works was 名取香り's "すべてがある場所に", nice song too. Here's the MV.

元宵节 Dinner

This is our dinner for this big day. Only 2 simple meals cooked by ourselves. The cai xin with pork was cooked by me and the egg with sausages was by my wife. Also heard from the news on TV that Singapore has won the host for the 2010 Youth Olympics. Congratulations Singapore!

元宵节 Company Buffet

This is my lunch treat by my company, celebrating 15th day of the chinese new year. Just a normal buffet catering but the food was absolutely tasty! 好吃!

Introducing my kitchen! Used to be very neat and clean. But after 5 months since my wife and I moved in with frequent cooking, it's now a bit oily...hehe. However we are very proud of it!

元宵节快乐
